Barb has a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration from Davenport University and a nursing diploma from Mercy Central School of Nursing. She has completed graduate work in public health from Michigan State University and holds certifications in case management, and intravenous infusion. She has completed Level III course work through the Colorado Institute of Healing Touch and Level I towards Medical Intuitive Certification. She is a versatile healthcare professional with extensive experience progressing from clinical to administrative roles, in both profit and non-profit healthcare organizations. She was with Priority Health from 1995-2002 as the Director of Health Management Programs and at Spectrum Health from 2002-2003 as the Director of System Quality Improvement. Leadership strengths focus on strategic planning, and innovation as evidenced by award winning, published disease management programs and public speaking requests. Career emphasis has been program development and implementations. Barbara currently serves on the Board of directors for Healthy Homes, Davenport University Alumni Boar, and is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Regional Council for Inforum. She became the principle owner of Holistic Care Approach in 2003, is a Certified NAET practitioner and a Holistic Nurse Consultant. 


Christine Schoenek, ND

Christine Schoenek, Naturopathic Doctor, graduated from Oakland University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) where she earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, graduating Suma Cum Laude and Valedictorian of her class. Christine currently holds her Naturopathic license in the state of Vermont and is a member of the Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians (MANP).

Christine believes in the key principle of Naturopathic Medicine – the body has the innate ability to heal itself. It is this mentality that she puts forth when working with and treating patients. She is determined to find the root cause of illness and establish health at a deeper level, rather than suppressing symptoms. Using Naturopathic Medicine, Christine works with her patients to restore innate health, proper function and overall wellbeing by means of safe and natural therapies.


David Schroeder, LMSW, CPC
Transition Pathways, Inc.

David Schroeder, LCSW, CPC is a clinical and spiritual social worker and professional life coach. In his private practice, Transition Pathways, David offers a variety of techniques to assist individuals, couples and groups in finding healthy pathways to love, higher awareness, and greater potential. He conducts workshops and retreats on topics such as: spirituality and self-esteem, The Soul's Journey to Love (based on his book Just Be Love), The Path to Sacred Relationship, The Power of Being, men's issues and more. David’s first book Just Be Love: Messages on the Spiritual and Human Journey is soon to be released.

Kerry Hart is a limited licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Masters in Family Therapy from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Kerry has a wide range of experience, including medical family therapy as well as couples work, family reunification, behavioral modification and treatment in children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults. Kerry also offers Premarital and Personal Development Programs within Grand Rapids Natural Health.


Kassandra Gillespie, LCMT, MLD Specialist

Kassandra Gillespie is a graduate of Blue Heron Academy in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Licensed by the State of Michigan.  Kassandra worked for Mary Free Bed for 8 years as a Manual Lymphatic Drainage Specialist, treating primary and secondary lymphedema.  Kassandra also worked for Holistic Care Approach for 14 years treating Lymphedema and doing clinical massage therapy.  Kassandra is now the proud owner of Michigan Clinical & Therapeutic Massage and has 18 years of experience behind her practice. 

Kassandra is certified in CMT, MLD and Beirsdorp Jobst compression fitting.  Kassandra’s mission is to give every client her individual, specialized attention at the highest level. 

Stephen Durell, MTOM, R.Ac.
Acupuncture of West Michigan

Stephen Durell is National Board Certified in Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and is a Registered Acupuncturist in Michigan.  He holds a Master’s degree from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2000.  His clinical experience includes an internship at Emperor's College and externships at Daniel Freeman Hospital and the UCLA Arthur Ashe Center.  He has worked at the St. Mary's Wege Institute and The Bronson Hospital Integrative Health Program.  Stephen founded Acupuncture of West Michigan in 2000 and has been providing  acupuncture to the Grand Rapids community since.

In addition to his extensive training in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Stephen is trained in Non-needle Microcurrent Acupuncture and Low Level Laser Therapy. He treats a wide range of conditions with Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs.

Audrey Byker, Health Coach

Audrey Byker specializes in health coaching and has a background in education, whole food cooking, and supporting busy people on their healthy lifestyle journey. She received her education degree from Hope College and is a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Audrey believes the human body knows what it needs to thrive and is constantly sending messages about what is missing. There are many forms of nourishment and each individual has different needs. Amber Kilpatrick

Always a Mama first, Amber is the founder of Mindful Vinyasa School of Yoga and the creator of Healthy Mamas™,  and author of Mindful Mama, Moments of Pause for Mothers . She is also a founding member of The  The Body Mind Being Project.  Amber's teachings are influenced by the practice of mindfulness, her own spiritual direction and life experiences, and the guidance of many teachers (Elena Bower, Philip Urso, and Esther Yff-Prins to name a few). Amber blends mindfulness, inspiration, challenge, and fun into her classes, programs, trainings, and life.  If you can't find her in the yoga studio she's probably out in the woods, reading poetry, singing, or playing with her vibrant little boys.

Jermale Eddie
Malamiah Juice Bar

Jermale D. Eddie is a wonderful husband, great father, excellent friend and a brilliant entre-pray-neur who is driven by extracting the potential that exists within everyone who he has the pleasure of coming in contact with. Jermale was born and raised in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s degree in Family Studies from Spring Arbor University. Jermale has eight years of higher education experience as an employee of Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, Lamar University and the University of Phoenix. He also has two years of experience as a successful church planter in Southeast Texas. Most recently, Jermale served as the Director of Education Innovation at the Grand Rapids Urban League, where he sought to empower community members by providing educational resources and guidance.

Jermale and his family (wife: Anissa, Sons: Malachi, Nehemiah and Josiah) reside in the wonderful city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. They are the proud owners of Malamiah Juice Bar, where he serves as the Chief Juice Innovator. He is also the Director of Reaching-In (Discipleship) at Madison Square Church: Ford Campus. As a way of being active in the community, Jermale spends time speaking to various groups, mentoring students, participating in workshops and volunteering his time at community functions. He also serves on one of the Leadership Boards for the Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. As a Christian business owner, Jermale considers himself an Entre-pray-neur and a connector of people. In his free time (whenever there is any), Jermale loves to listen to live music, read, spend time with his family, travel and simply dream!


Mike Hughes


Mike founded Doorganics in July 2011, when he was motivated to create a healthy, local food source option that would fit his busy lifestyle. The Grand Rapids company launched with a website, a borrowed delivery van, and one local farm partner. Since then, he's grown the startup into a thriving local business – and he's grown his family as well, marrying wife Emily in 2013 and welcoming daughter Jane to the world in 2014. With a degree from Michigan State University and professional experience running a small family business, Mike loves working with a vibrant local team who's passionate about delighting customers with delicious food that's fresh from the farm. Natalie Novak Bauss
Keeki Pure and Simple

Natalie Novak Bauss is the CEO and founder of Keeki Pure and Simple and KPS Essentials.  Natalie began her journey for a cleaner lifestyle in 1987 as a high-end cosmetics sales manager for Nordstrom. When she walked into the stockroom to assess the damage after the Whittier Narrows Earthquake, she noticed one of her products had broken and eaten through the carpet and padding exposing the floor below.

After years of study, becoming and esthetician and working for multiple Dr's in Grand Rapids Michigan, in 2010, she started Keeki pure and simple for her 12-year-old daughter, Keeki. Today Natalie plays a hands-on role in the formulation of cosmetics and skin care with an international reputation for uncompromised quality, purity, and efficacy.
